About
Thomas Passano
Thomas is currently a crisis counselor at The Manville School in Boston, supporting students aged 5-18 in myriad ways throughout each school day, and is working on acquiring his LSW certification. He additionally brings a decade of educational and child development experience from various educational roles and nearly 7 summers spent working at summer camp.
Further, Thomas currently is the head coach of Stonehill College’s Ultimate Frisbee team and has previously coached high school baseball. Thomas strongly believes that education and child development goes far beyond the classroom and that physical activity, interactive and creative play, and team/group based activities are crucial for developing critical social-emotional, regulatory, and problem solving skills. He always encourages his students to build movement into their days in as many ways as they can, and especially outside whenever possible. Thomas’ experiences working at summer camps significantly shaped his belief in the benefits of physical/outdoor social activity and he wishes he could work at summer camps all year round.
In his free time, Thomas enjoys traveling with his wife, hiking, reading, and playing disc golf, softball, and ultimate frisbee. He also spends as much quality time with his friends and family as he can.
